For over thirty years, the Soleado Agency has been running in Lido Adriano, on the Eastern Italian Adriatic coast, under the excellent management of Signor Vincenzo Tondo and family. LIDO ADRIANO, A STONE'S THROW AWAY FROM THE CENTRE, AND MILES UPON MILES OF SANDY BEACH

Lido Adriano appeared in the early 1960s and began its expansion in 1973 with the first residential constructions. The choice of name is due to the research of a Dante expert from Ravenna, who found inspiration in verses 121-123 of Dante's The Divine Comedy-Paradise, in which the classical poet wrote: "In questo loco fù io Pietro Damiano/ Pietro Peccator fù nella casa/di Nostra Donna in sul lito adriano." ("In this place I Pietro Damiano/Pietro Peccator entered the house/ di Nostra Donna in lito adriano"). Approximately 8 km from Ravenna, a city world famous for its important monuments and precious Byzantine Mosaics, Lido Adriano is the most modern lido on the Ravenna coastline. Above all else, it is here that people come for their holiday getaways, even if only for a week. Lido Adriano, other than being the first hamlet of Ravenna, is also a hot spot with a hight foreign tourist presence/concentration. The International Center for the Study and Teaching of the Art of Mosaics offers a range of courses for an international body of students. Winter courses, approved by Ravenna Province and EEC, train mosaicist to reproduce or to restore antique Greek, Roman, Byzantine and mediaeval pieces of work. Art school students can even learn how to create Contemporary Mosaic Art or flooring with new mosaic technology. Intensive weekly summer courses are available for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels (from Monday to Saturday morning - 8 hours per day). The artistic city of Ravenna is easy to reach, as is the Po Delta Regional Park, the Tuscan-Romagna hillsides, the naturalistic oases, countryside villages, Rimini's famous discos, the Mirabilandia amusement park; and also, thanks to a certain embarkment point from Lido Adriano, one can take part in guided tours by sea or take a trip to the Po delta.
